"James and Jacob Sandusky (later Sandusky) came from Virginia in 1774 with the Hite's surveying party and helped lay out Harrodstown.  James chose site at Pleasant Run Spring. 150 S.E. of here for settlement. Harrod’s men helped him erect fort in 1776. He and Jacob moved, 1785, to present Jessamine Co.; James son, Anthony, stayed.  Family long identified with family."
